Ingredients used in Moong Dhal & Palak
• 1 cup moong dhal - .
• 2 cups water - .
• 3 tbsp cooking oil - .
• 1/4 tsp cumin seeds - .
• 4 whole red chilies - .
• A pinch turmeric - .
• 2 tsp red chili powder - .
• 1.5 - 2 tsp salt - .
• 1 big sprig palak - .
• 2-3 green chilies - .
• Few curry leaves - .
Method:
Roast 1 cup moong dhal, wash it and add double the water. Add 2-3 slit green chilies and 1 bunch cut spinach to dhal and pressure cook it till you get 2 whistles. Simmer it for 2-3 minutes and remove from fire. Meanwhile heat 3tbsp oil in a pan, add ? tsp cumin, 4 whole red chilies, few curry leaves, a pinch of turmeric, 2 tsp red chili powder, 1.5 to 2 tsp salt (as desired) on slow flame and add half mashed dhal mixture to it. Boil it for 5 minutes while stirring continuously and remove.
