Ingredients used in Moru kulumbu
• Buttermilk - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Coconut - 1/2 cup.
• Turmeric - 1 teaspoons.
• Green chilli - 6-7 numbers.
• Ginger - 2 piece.
• Cumin - 2 teaspoons.
• Bengal gram flour - 1 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Any vegetable(potatoes , pumpkin , green leaves or fried ladies fingers ) - 250 grams.
• Oil - 1 teaspoons.
• Asafoetida - pinch.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Mustard seeds - pinch.
• Split black gram - 1 teaspoons.
Method:
1.Grate coconut and grind to a fine paste with green chillies ,cumin and ginger. 2. Mix all the ingredients down to gram flour with buttermilk .3. Add salt and vegetable .Heat , stirring all the time , and as the mixture comes to a boil ,remove .4. Heat oil .Add black gram and as it browns ,add mustard seeds . When seeds crackle add asafoetida and curry leaves . 5. Pour over the vegetable and curds mixture . Stir well .
