Ingredients used in Muthira chammathy (Kollu)
• Horse gram (muthira) - 2 tablespoons.
• Grated coconut - 1 cup.
• Red dried chilli - 6 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 2 stricks.
• Sliced onion - 1 numbers.
• Coconut oil/or refined oil - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Tamarind pulp - to taste.
Method:
Clean horse grain. In a pan heat oil slightly and chilli removing stems slowly fry till it changes color and aroma comes,remove and keep aside, to this same pan add the horse grain and fry till its changes its colour, at this time add onion fry a little add coconut and curry leaves and fry till the coconut starts changing colour. Removed and grind to coarse paste with salt and tamarind.
