Ingredients used in Pepper corns Puliyodharai
• Pepper corns - 1/4 cup.
• Oil - 2 tea spoon.
• Peanuts - 1/4 cup.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Tamarind juice - 100 ml.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Hing - pinch.
• Cooked rice - 1 cup.
Method:
  • First, soak the peppercorns for 1 hour, later crush them in amotor pestle and keep aside.
  • Now heat oil in a pan add peanuts, chana dal, urad dal and fry till they get a nice colour and keep aside.
  • In the same oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, curry leaves, tamarind juice, salt and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add crushed peppercornsmix well and cook for another two minutes and switch off the flame.
  • Then add turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds powder, hing, cooked rice, fried peanuts, dals and mixed well.
  • Finally serve after letting it sit for 15-20 minutes.
