Ingredients used in Pineapple Zarda Pulao
• Pistachio - 5 numbers.
• Cardamom powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Salt - 1 pinch.
• Pineapple pieces - 1 cup.
• Ghee - 3 tablespoons.
• Sugar - 1 cup.
• Water - 1(1/2) cup.
• Basmati rice - 1 cup.
• Almond - 5 numbers.
• Khoya - 50 grams.
• Saffron - 1/2 grams.
Method:
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add pineapple pieces and saute it then add little water, let it cook with closed lid for 3 to 4 minutes until tender.
  • Then even add sugar, mix it and cook this until sugar melts.
  • Take another pan, add water, 1 teaspoon of ghee, saffron (soaked in milk) comes to boil, add rice (soaked in water for 30 minutes), a pinch of salt, cook for 5 minutes.
  • In the same pan, add pineapple, sugar mixture, mix it.
  • At last, add cardamom powder, chopped pistachio, almond, khoya (optional), mix gently and cook it with closed lid on a slow flame for 3 minutes. Switch off the flame.
