PRAWN MALAI CURRY

Ingredients used in PRAWN MALAI CURRY
• Prawns - 5 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Butter - 4 cube.
• Onions (paste raw) - 2 teaspoons.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Chilly flakes - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tomato paste - 2 teaspoons.
• Mustard paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilly - 4 numbers.
• Sugar - 1 pinch.
• Coconut milk - 1/2 cup.
• Garam masala - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
  • First, marinate the prawn with salt, and turmeric, keep it aside.
  • Take a pan put it on the flame and add butter, then add marinated prawns, cook this prawn (75% done) and transfer it to a plate.
  • In the same butter, add onion paste, ginger garlic paste cook this till raw flavor is gone and add chilly flakes, tomato paste, cook for few minutes.
  • Now add mustard paste, salt, green chilies, a pinch of sugar, coconut milk and then add prawns, cook this for few minutes.
  • Add garam masala powder, switch off the flame, put the lid on for few minutes.

Serve this hot with rice, and chapattis.

Great recipe!! For my chingri malai curry I use jumbo prawns with the head and shell on..Its a bit of a challenge to devien the prawns with shell one..but when the juices from the prawn head oozes out in the gravy..its just heavenly!!
