Ingredients used in RED GRAM PULAO
• Whole red gram - 3/4 cup.
• Basmati rice - 1 cup.
• Cloves - 4 number.
• Black cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cinnamon - 1 number.
• Cardamom - 2 number.
• Star anise - 1 number.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Mint leaves - 1/4 bunch.
• Green chillies - 4 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder(optional) - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes - 1 number.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Soak whole red gram overnight and boil it.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, black cumin seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, bay leaf and saute it.
  • Add onion, mint leaves, green chilies, a little salt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, tomatoes, boiled whole red gram and saute it for 1 minute.
  • Add water and boil it, add basmati rice and cook with the lid on it.

Now Red gram pulao is ready to serve.
