Ingredients used in sambar dhal
• Curry leaves - few .
• Asafoetida (hing) - pinch .
• Castor oil - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Green chilly - 1 numbers.
• Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Jeera - 1/4 tablespoons.
• Tomato - 1 numbers.
• Red chilly - 2 numbers.
• Garlic pods - 4 numbers.
• Shallots (small onion) - 10 numbers.
• Toor dhal - 2 cup.
• Corriander leaves - few .
• Split channa dal(kadalaparpu) - 1 teaspoons.
• Urud dal - 1 teaspoons.
• Mustard - 1 teaspoons.
Method:
Cook dhal with shallots -5, garlic- 2, jeera, red chilly, turmeric,tomato and castor oil with enough water. Keep this in cooker for 3 sounds. If u want u can takeout the water for rasam. Finally fry in pan split channa dal,urud dal,mustard seeds,curry leaves,add the rest of the onions amp; garlic,greenchilly,asafoetida.Pour this in the above dhal. Garnish with corriander leaves.
