Ingredients used in Tadka Daal
• Chane ki daal - 1 cup.
• Water - 5 cup.
• Salt - 1 tablespoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Chopped ginger - 2 teaspoons.
• Sugar - 1 teaspoons.
• Heaped tbsp fried coconut - 1 tablespoons.
• Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Mustard - 1 teaspoons.
• Red chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Coriander leaves for garnish - to taste.
Method:
Pick, clean and wash the daal and cook with the water, salt, turmeric powder and ginger, till soft. Add the sugar and fried coconut. Heat oil and add the mustard and red chillies. Add the daal to this mixture and bring to a boil, and then simmer for a minute. Garnish with the coriander leaves. Serve hot with roti, paratha or rice.
