TOMATO SOUP HOME STYLE

Ingredients used in TOMATO SOUP HOME STYLE
• Garlic cloves - 10 cloves.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Peppercorns - 1 tea spoon.
• Onions - 1 number.
• Tomatoes - 3 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Butter - 2 teaspoons.
• All purpose flour - 1 tea spoon.
• Mixed herbs - half tea spoon.
• Sugar - half tea spoon.
• Cream - 1 tablespoon.
• Bread pieces - 4-5 numbers.
Method:
  • Take butter in a hot vessel and add garlic cloves, bay leaf, peppercorns and saute it.
  • Now add pieces of onions, tomatoes, and saute it by adding salt in it.
  • Add enough water and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • After cooking for 5minutes switch off the flame and take out the bay leaf.
  • Once its cool down blend it in a blender and make a fine paste.
  • In a hot vessel add a little bit of butter, all-purpose flour and mix it thoroughly.
  • Add water very slowly and keep mixing it so that it doesn’t form lumps..
  • Add the strained tomato mixture, salt, mixed herbs, sugar.
  • After 2-3 boils switch off the flame and add cream, then mix it thoroughly.
  • Serve hot in a soup bowl with bread pieces on it.

Recipe:

Cut the tomatoes into 4 pieces in a container which could easily fit in the pressure cooker. Add some spices cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cloves, star anise and pepper to the tomatoes. Also add ginger and garlic. Include a small amount of beetroot, coriander stems and 1 cup water. pressure cook altogether approximately 4 whistles. however, it is possible to cook them on stovetop for not more than 10-12 minutes or also microwave them at quite high for approximately 6 minutes. you can add fried bread crumps or small meatballs for additional taste.
