Ingredients used in Vaal ni Dal no Pulav
• Cooked rice - 8 cups.
• Sprouted field beans - 2 cups.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Ssafoetida - half tea spoon.
• Clove - 2 numbers.
• Cinnamon stick - 1 number.
• Green chili (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - as.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/4 cup.
Method:
  • In boiling water, add sprouted beans. Cook for 8 minutes or till they are fully cooked. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a heavy - bottomed vessel till it is very hot. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Now add the cloves, cinnamon, green chillies, red chili powder, asafoetida and turmeric powder. Stir fry on medium / low level for about 2 minutes.
  • Now, add the rice, the cooked sprouted field beans and salt. Mix well. Cover and keep on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  • Garnish with grated coconut (optional) and chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot.
