Ingredients used in vada curry
• curry leaves 5 Numbers.
• garam masala powder 1/2 Teaspoons.
• coriander powder 1 Teaspoons.
• chilli powder 1/2 Teaspoons.
• tomato(finely chopped) 1 Numbers.
• onion(finely chopped) 1 Numbers.
• salt to taste .
• fennel seeds 1/2 Teaspoons.
• hing 1 Pinch.
• red chilli 2 Numbers.
• channa dhal 1 Cup.
• coriander leaves to garnish .
• mustard seeds 1/2 Teaspoons.
• ginger garlic paste 1/2 Teaspoons.
• coconut milk 1 Cup.
How to make the recipe:
First to make vadai: Soak channa dhal along with redchilli for 3 hrs,Grind it coarsely with salt,fennel seeds and hing.Make small balls of it and deep fry it as usual as we make parippu vadai.Let it cool To make the curry: In a hot pan put two tbsp of oil and when it gets heated add mustard seeds,an d when they crackle add onions,ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder and saute till the raw smell goes.Meantime make the vadai into small pieces.Then add the tomatoes,little salt and fry till tomatoes get mashed .then add all the powders and saute for 1 minute in a low flame and add some water.When it boils add the vadais,the vadais will absorb all moisture soon,so keep it in a low flame.As soon as the vadai start absorbing water,add the coconut milk and let it simmer for 5 min.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with idli,appam .
