Ingredients used in Venn pongal
• Cashew nut - 10 numbers.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Black pepper - 2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seed - 2 teaspoons.
• Ghee - 1/2 cup.
• Moong dal - 1 tablespoons.
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Himg - 2 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
.Add rice , mongdal ,in a bowl add 3 cups of water for 1 cup of rice and moong dal. Add 1 tsp of cumin seed and black pepper in to the rice and keep it in the pressure cooker. Add salt to taste. Give 3 whistle and keep the cooker for sim for 5 min. Fry the remaining pepper,cumin seeds, cashew, cut ginger and hing in the ghee and keep it aside. Once the rice is ready mash the rice with big spoon and make it to paste. add pepper, cumin , ghee on top of this mashed rice and serve hot with pickles or coconut chutney.
