Ingredients used in yellow masala (Vatpachi)daal
• Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Jeera - 1 tablespoons.
• Chopped coriander leaves - 3 tablespoons.
• Ginger - 1 slice.
• Garlic - 2 clove.
• Grated coconut - 1 cup.
• Aesofoetida - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoons.
Method:
First grind coconut,ginger-garlic,coriander leaves,jeera and turmeric to a fine paste. Boil toor daal (you can add lil amount of moong daal also) in a pressure cooker till soft. Now in a large vessel ,heat some oil and put mustard seeds, lil bit of jeera and hing. once they start spluttering and above ground mixture and let it cook for some time or you can wait till it boils. Then add cooked daal to it. Cook for few minutes. You can add tomatoes or any other things as per your taste.
