A coconut based shrimp curry from popular Indian cuisines which goan love to eat.cut the onion into 2 halves- one half chop very finely and very small now divide this finely chopped onion into 1/4 and 3/4 ...take a bowl mix the 3/4 onion the prawns red chilli powder turmeric salt and keep aside now to prepare the gravy divide the grated coconut into 2 parts one part is for the gravy and the other part is for getting the coconut milk out in the 1/2 part of coconut we have for the gravy add the 1/2 onion that we had cut initially add 2-3 peppercons, coriander seeds the tamarind, turmeric powder a lil chilli powder , and grinde to a fine paste while adding a lil water at a time ...keep aside ...then the other part of the coconut add water and get the milk out the first thick milk should be kept aside to add last add water and get the milk for 2-3 times more (do not mix this with the thick coconut milk) now the main preparation starts take a tsp of oil in a vessel when hot add the 1/4 finely chopped onion let it cook till its dark brown then add the prawns mix to it and mix well the smell of the darkened onion to stick to the mix ....keep stiring add a lil water when the shrimps are cooked add the coconut gravy let it simmer while its simmering add the watery coconut water(not the thick one) let it cook when it starts boiling again add the thick milk and let it simmer for 3-4 min then switch off the stove top and do not cover serve with rice or bread or chapati
