Description

This tomato rice recipe is entirely different from that of usual tomato rice. It is very tasty and easy to prepare.

  1. Dry roast Red Chillies and Cinnamon in medium flame until the Red Chilly seeds turn light brown.. Add Poppy seed and fry for 1 more minute..
  2. Transfer all ingredients to a mixer container, wait for 10 mins and make fine powder.
  3. Meanwhile, Add oil into a frying pan. In medium flame, add mustard seeds, 1 red chilly broken into 4 pieces, cashews, and finely chopped onion. Fry onions until golden brown, add tomatoes and fry until oil starts oozing out. Add the powder prepared in Step 1 and saute well for 5 minutes. Add Salt, sugar and grated dry coconut and saute for another 5 minutes. Do not add salt until the end, because it will extract more than required juice out of tomatoes and taste will be spoiled.
  4. Mix it with Rice and Enjoy Spicy Hot Tomato Rice. This paste of Tomato bath can be stored in bottles for more than a week outside refrigerator.
