Bathua also known as Chenopodium Album is known to be a weed but are loaded with number of health benefits and it is famous as a healthy vegetable in India. Bathua is also known as lamb's quarters, it is an old plant related to the beetroot, spinach, and quinoa. Bathua is available during the India’s winter months at the elevations up to 4,700 meters. The sources, like “Handbook on Herbs Cultivation and Processing,” also listed this plant as a summer crop in the irrigated areas. In India, not many grow this Bahuva plant commercially, even though some of the locals in Kulu Valley and some in Rajasthan are doing so on a very small scale.
