Description: White Urad Dal made with fresh green Masala

Recipe of Ghutta

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Garlic Cloves (crushed) 3-4 Numbers
Salt To Taste
Turmeric Powder 1 Pinch
Coriander Leaves 1/4 Bunch
Garlic Cloves 7-8 Numbers
Green Chillies 7-8 Numbers
Cumin Seeds (jeera) 1 Tablespoons
Coconut 1 Tablespoons
White Urad Dal 1 Cup
Asafoetida 1 Pinch
Mustard Seeds 1 Teaspoons
Oil 1 Tablespoons


wash & cook Urad dal till it acquires the mashy texture.. keep aside take a blender, add the coconut, jeera, green chillies & the garlic cloves (whole) and make a fine paste... keep aside The Tadka:- Take Oil, add mustard seeds , let them crackle, then add the crushed garlic , immediately also add the asafoetida , let the garlic turn a little brown,add the green masala, add turmeric , and once the masala starts to ooze out the oil add the cooked urad dal & salt. adjust ur consistency by adding water.. do not make too thick..... once it is cooked ... add finely chopped coriander & serve hot with rice.

Recipe Tips

you can make the same recipe with black urad dal also.
