Ingredients used in Karela nu shaak
• Bitter melon, karela - 4 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Garlic - 5 clove.
• Hing - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Sugar - 2 teaspoons.
• Lime juice - 2 teaspoons.
• Besan - 1/2 cup.
• Salt - 1 teaspoons.
• Oil - 1 tablespoons.
Method:

First roast the besan flour on a low flame till a smell arises. Remove and keep aside. Peel the karelas and chop it to bite size, remove the seeds and put in a pressure cooker with some water, salt and some sugar. Pressure cook for 2 whistles. Drain the water completely and cool for some time. Now heat 1 tbsp pf oil, add cumin seeds, crushed garlic, add the boiled karela and saute for some time. Now add turmeric, chilli powder, sugar, lime juice, and mix well. At the end add the flour and mix well on low flame until it comes together as a single mass. Serve with Phulkas. Sugar and spice can be adjusted according to your taste.
