When I was young I used to mashed potatoes for Bataka wada (Aloo chup), and my mom used to say, if you add Turmeric you are making sabzi, not a specialty dish.
So adding turmeric will make any dish taste like a sabzi.
first dish we call "dum aloo" but more like sabzi.
Second dish never had...I will try.
