Ingredients used in Raw Tomato Puliyodharai
• Raw tomatoes - 4-5 number.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Dry red chilies - 4 number.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Hing - pinch.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Ginger (chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Peanuts (crushed) - 1 tea spoon.
• Tamarind jiuce - 100 ml.
• Green chillies - 3 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Cooked rice - 1 cup.
Method:
  • Firstly cut the raw tomatoes into pieces and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal and fry till the raw flavour is gone
  • Now add turmeric powder, hing, curry leaves, chopped ginger, rushed peanuts and cook for few minutes.
  • Then add tamarind juice and cook for another 3-4 minutes until it is slightly thick.
  • Later add split green chillies, salt, raw tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Finally add cooked rice mix well together and serve after resting it for 10 minutes.
