Ingredients used in Steamed Broccoli in Ginger Lemon sauce
• Fresh lemon juice - 2 teaspoons.
• Fresh ginger paste or finely grated ginger - 2 teaspoons.
• Broccoli - 1 bunch.
• Cumin powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
1 Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Cut off the stem and peel off the thick skin around the stem. Quarter or halve the stem lengthwise. 2 Put the broccoli into an inch of water in a sauce pan and cover with a lid. Steam it for 3-4 minutes in medium heat flame. The contents need to be tossed occasionally to evenly cook. 3. Sprinkle 2 tea spoons of ginger paste or grated ginger, 1.5 tea spoons of lemon juice, 2 tea spoons of cumin powder and salt to taste over broccoli. Toss the contents thoroughly so that the broccoli florets and stems are evenly coated with these ingredients. 4. Continue cooking over medium high heat (for 4 mins), tossing occasionally until the broccoli are tender yet still crisp. Water can be sprinkled to the contents if it is too dry while cooking. 5. Steamed Broccoli is ready. The quantity of added ginger paste, lemon juice and cumin powder can be varied to suit one#39;s requirement.
