Recipe of Bottle Gaurd with Prawns(Kokan dhudhi delight)

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Red Chilly Powder 1 Tablespoons
Turmeric Powder 1/2 Teaspoons
Coconut Milk 1/2 Cup
Oil 4 Tablespoons
Veg Maggi Cube(optional) 1 Numbers
Tomatoes 2 Numbers
Onion 2 Numbers
Prawns 100 Grams
Bottle Gourd(Lauki) 500 Grams
Garlic 3 Piece
Coriander Powder 2 Teaspoons
Khada Masala(cloves,cinnamon,cardamom) few of each Stricks
Salt To Taste


Take a vessel ,add 2 spoons of oil and fry ½ diced onion till golden brown.Add the cut bottle gourd and prawns.Keep it to cook.Add the maggi cube.Let it simmer slowly.[1] Take another pan.Add 2 spoons of oil and add khada masala then fry.Then add chopped onions,tomatoes,green chillies and garlic.Saute for sometime.Cool the mixture and blend it in the mixer.Make it into a fine paste.[2] Add the paste [2] to the above boiled content [1].Add little water and simmer.When it stars boiling add one cup of coconut milk.Boil it for a while.The gravy is done.

Recipe Tips

Bottle gourd should be cut and soaked in the water to avoid getting dark in colour.
