Description: Sabudana vada is fried dumplings made of sago, rice flour and spices and served with spicy green chutney. Sabudana Vada is a traditional snack from Maharashtra. Sabudana is the main ingredient for this dish and is widely used in the Northern western parts of India

Recipe of sabudana vada

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Rice Flour 2 Tablespoons
Onions 1 Numbers
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 Teaspoons
Curry Leaves 2 Springs
Coriander 1 Bunch
Green Chilli 4 Numbers
Potato 1 Numbers
Sabudana 1 Cup
Chat Masala 1 Teaspoons


  1. Soak sabudana in water for 3 hrs.Grate raw potato in a bowl, then add green chillis, coriander leaves,curry leaves,red chill powder,onions chopped finely, rice flour, then add chat masala mix well.Now mix till it becomes dough then make a small dumplings like vada.
  2. Now take oil to fry deep fry in avery slow flame till golden brown colour.

Hi..I made this sabudana vada for many times which tasted too good..i added little amount of grated carrot to tasted nice...This recipe is really excellent

i see many of your recipe and it works.... but in these one i want to make it for fast so i can't add rice and onions so what can i do for it?

This is maharshtrian recipe eaten while fasting , so oinions are not put in it.Onions can be replaced by ground peanuts.otherwise this recipe is awesome.
