Ingredients used in Jowar Roti Kichidi
• Moong dal - 1/2 cup.
• Lentils - 1/2 cup.
• Ghee - 2 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chillies - 2 numbers.
• Chopped ginger - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped onions - 1/2 cup.
• Chopped green chillies - 5 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Pepper - 5-6 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Jowar roti - 2 numbers.
Method:
  • Soak the lentils and moong dal for 1 hour.
  • In a hot pan add ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, ginger, onions, green chillies, curry leaves and saute it.
  • Take mortar & pestle add pepper and crush it.
  • Then add this crushed mixture into the pan and add salt to it.
  • Add turmeric powder and saute it.
  • Now add soaked moong dal, soaked lentils and mix it nicely.
  • Then add water to it and leave it.
  • Take jowar roti's and cut into small pieces.
  • Add these pieces into the cooking pan and add water to it.
  • Cover it with the lid.
  • Cook it for 10minutes in a low flame till it is done.
  • After 10 minutes switch off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl.

Now jowar roti kichidi is ready.
