Ingredients used in Plantain Dosa
• Rice - ½ cup.
• Raw plantain (skin peeled and cut into pieces) - 1 cup.
• Curd - 3 tablespoons.
• Cumin seeds - ½ tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Salt - to taste.
• Soda - 1 pinch.
• Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Onions, finely - 1 number.
• Ginger - 1 piece.
• Carrot - 1 number.
• Oil - as required.
Method:
  • In a mixie blender, add in the rice (soaked in water for 2 hours, drain off the water), raw banana, curd, cumin seeds, few curry leaves and a little salt. Grind all these to a smooth and thick batter.
  • Shift the batter into a bowl and add a pinch of soda, mix well.
  • Heat a Tawa and when it is hot, take a ladle full of dosa batter, pour on the Tawa and spread evenly in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
  • Sprinkle some finely chopped green chilies, onions, ginger, grated carrot, and drizzle very little oil on the sides.
  • Once the dosa is crisp, dish it out on a plate and serve hot with any chutney you like.
