SHRIMP -( ROYALA ) PACHADI

Ingredients used in SHRIMP -( ROYALA ) PACHADI
• Black mustard seeds (aavalu) - 2 teaspoons.
• Coriander seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Fenugreek seeds (methi seeds) - 2 teaspoons.
• Curry leaves - 5 sticks.
• Red chilly powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoons.
• Oil - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmericpowder - half tea spoon.
• Clean deveined shrimp - 1 cup.
• Black pepper corns (pepper corns) - 1 tablespoon.
• Cloves (whole) - 2 no.
• Cinnamon sticks (flat) - 1 no.
Method:
  • Clean and devein the shrimp.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt and Keep it aside.
  • Now grind ginger and garlic into paste. Keep it aside.
  • Dry roast Fenugreek Seeds,Coriander seeds,black mustard seeds,black pepper corns,cloves and cinnamon sticks on low heat, until the seeds change colour to pale brown.
  • Remove from heat, cool and make into a fine powder, keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add shrimp. and fry shrimp. until the pieces turn pink,and shrimp becomes hard,Remove from oil, keep aside
  • In the remaining oil, over medium-low heat, fry ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add red chilly powder and powdered spices to it and fry for 3 minutes
  • Mix well and next add shrimp and lime juice.
  • Heat little oil in a small pan and add mustards to the hot oil, once they start popup add Curry leaves, add this to the shrimp.
  • Allow the stuff to cool down.
  • Store it in an air tight jar and refrigerate.
