- Dry roast barley seeds till they slightly change in color andblend them to coarse powder.
- Boil water in a pan, add powdered barley and cook it for about 10 minutes.
- Now add milk, jaggery, cook well, then add chopped dates, saffron colour andgive it a mix.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts, raisins saute it and transfer into cooking bowl.
Barley Payasam is now ready to serve
