Ingredients used in Chicken Mantu
• Minced chicken - 250 grams.
• Onions (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Oil - 3 teaspoons.
• White pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Yogurt - 1/2 cup.
• Green chilies(chopped) - 4 numbers.
• Garlic (finely minced) - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• All-purpose flour - 1 cup.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Coriander powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chandal (boiled) - 1 cup.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, salt, cook till the onions are transparent then add chicken mince, pepper powder, chopped coriander leaves, mix it well and transfer it into the plate.
  • In a bowl, add yogurt, finely minced garlic, green chilies, salt, mix it well and keep it aside.
  • Take another bowl, add all purpose flour, salt, oil, by adding water mix it like a stiff dough.
  • Knead the dough and rest it for 15 minutes. Then roll it like a thin sheet with the help of rolling pin.
  • And cut them into squares and apply some water on the edges and stuff it with prepared chicken, you can make any shape you want.
  • Seal the edges and steam cook them for 15 to 20 minutes.

Preparation of Sauce:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, chopped green chilies, ginger, and garlic paste, turmeric powder, saute it.
  • And add chopped tomatoes, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, chili powder, chicken mince, cook it for some time.
  • Then add chana dal (boiled) along with some water and let it cook with closed lid for 5 minutes.
  • Now pour this sauce on the top of the steamed mantus and top them with yogurt mixture.

Delicious Chicken Mantus is now ready to serve.

We eat this with 2 different sauces: garlic sauce + tempering of oil, dried mint and dried chilli flakes. Or garlic sauce + simple tomato sauce, oil, tomatoes, basil & salt, peper.?
