Ingredients used in Handwa
• Chikpea dal - 1 pinch.
• Mustard seed - 1 tea spoon.
• Hing - 1 pinch.
• Green chillis - 7-8 no.
• Ginger chopped - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 7-8 clove.
• Cumin seed - 1 tea spoon.
• Butter milk/yogurt - 1 cup.
• Lentil dal - half cup.
• Turmeric powder - half cup.
• Rice soaked - 1 cup.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
• Water - as required.
• Til - 2 teaspoons.
Method:
Soak rice, dal in water for whole night. Grind rice, dal with finely chopped green chilies, ginger, garlic, and cumin seeds. Then add dahi along with water to make a fine paste of above all mixtures. Keep aside for 5-6 hour. In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds ,turmeric powder,hing, curry leaves. Spread it over above rice dal mixture. Add salt, chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Heat non steak pan ,spread some oil. Take some mixture. Spread into a thick circle. Cook on both sides with closed lid, till brown. Serve hot with chutney.
