Ingredients used in prawns masala
• Prawns - 1 pound.
• Onion - 1 large.
• Tomato - 1 small.
• Lime juice - 2 teaspoons.
• Green chillies(slit) - 4 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Red chilly powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Coconut milk - 1 tablespoons.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1+1/2 tablespoons.
• Pepper - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Fresh coriander - to taste.
Method:
  • Clean and de-vein the prawns, remove shells.
  • Take boiling water, add one teaspoon of turmeric powder, salt and one teaspoon of lime juice, boil for 3-5 minutes or until prawns become a slight pink, do not cook them completely.( They will cook completely in the gravy ) Drain
    the water, do not use the water.
  • Take oil in a kadhai, heat then addgreen chilies and the curry leaves, then add the finely chopped onions, fry till golden brown.
  • To it add ginger garlic paste, fry for some time until U can smell the aroma. Add the tomato paste, fry for 4-5 minutes till the paste become a little dry. Add salt to taste.
  • Add the turmeric powder, let it cook for a min or two, add the red chilly powder, cook the entire gravy till it becomes a semi-dry paste, add the prawns and fry for 4-5 mins, add the pepper and a few more leaves
    of curry leaves and the lime juice.
  • Add the coconut milk and cook for sometime. Cover and cook till the prawns incorporate the gravy. After the prawns
    are cooked, leave them to rest for some time so that the juices canredistribute. Finally, garnish with coriander and enjoy the feast.
