Ingredients used in Celery Sambar
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 4 number.
• Oil - as required.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilies (chopped) - 3 number.
• Onion (slices) - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Garlic ( crushed ) - 1 tea spoon.
• Hing - pinch.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Tomatoes (chopped) - 1 number.
• Celery sticks (chopped ) - 1 cup.
• Celery leaves (chopped ) - 1 cup.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Sambar powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Dal (boiled ) - 1 cup.
Method:
Firstly, heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, dry red chilies, fenugreek seeds, green chilies, saute it. Then even add onion slices, curry leaves, crushed garlic, hing, turmeric powder, saute it well. Now to it add tamarind juice, chopped tomatoes, chopped celery sticks, let it boil for sometime. After celery is perfectly cooked, add chopped celery leaves, red chili powder, sambar powder, boiled dal and cook for 2-3 more minutes with closed lid. DeliciousCelery Sambar is now ready to serve.
