Ingredients used in Spiced Fruit chutney
• Pear - 2 numbers.
• Apple - 1 number.
• Cranberries - half cup.
• Dried currants - half cup.
• Orange peel - 2 tablespoons.
• Vinegar - 2 cups.
• Cinnamon powder - half tea spoon.
• Garlic - 1 clove.
• Dried red pepper flakes - half tea spoon.
• Golden brown sugar - 3 cups.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Ginger - 1 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - half cup.
Method:
  • In a pan, add vinegar, onion, water, ginger, orange peel, salt, Cinnamon powder, garlic, chili flakes and boil on medium flame, stirring frequently.
  • Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Then add sugar, pears, apple, cranberries and currants and stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Cook until fruits are soft and liquid thickens slightly, stirring occasionally, about 1 hour. Cool to room temperature (chutney will thicken more as it cools).
  • Cover and refrigerate. Bring to room temperature before serving.
