Ingredients used in Sweet potato Mirchi ka Salan
• Peanuts - 1 tablespoon.
• Coconut pieces - 1/2 cup.
• Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 3 number.
• Kalonji - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped onion - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Hing - pinch.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped sweet potatoes - 1 cup.
• Water - as required.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Slitted green chilies - 3 number.
• Tamarind pulp - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Dry roast peanuts and coconut pieces till color are slightly changed.
  • Then add sesame seeds to it, fry and grind all this to a fine powder in a blender.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilies. kalonji, chopped onion, curry leaves, saute onions until onions are transparent.
  • Now, season it with turmeric powder, hing, ginger garlic paste and keep mixing until raw flavors are gone.
  • In the same pan, add chopped sweet potatoes, let it fry for few minutes then add earlier grinded paste.
  • When oil oozes out of the gravy, add water, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, slitted green chilies, tamarind pulp, salt ( to taste) and let this cook till desired consistency.

Serve it with hot rice.
