Ingredients used in Oats uthappa
• Finely chopped coriander/cilantro - 6 springs.
• Salt - to taste.
• Finely chopped green chillies - 4 numbers.
• Cumin seeds (crush them between your palms) - 1 teaspoons.
• Finely chopped onions - 1 big.
• Yoghurt - 2 tablespoons.
• Rawa - 3/4 cup.
• Rolled oats (quaker oats) - 2 cup.
• Finely chopped tomato (optional) - 1/2 numbers.
• Dhaniyaa powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Red chilly powder (optional) - to taste.
• Oil - .
Method:
Crush the rolled oats with your hands as much as possible. Add Rawa and the rest of the ingredients to it.add little water to make the batter a little thicker than that of normal uthappa.Leave the batter for 15-30 mins.now take a tava (roti pan ).Add 1/2 tsp oil to it for the first oat uthappa. let it heat well. Now pour 2 Tbsp of batter on to the heated tava in quick succession and spread it properly. Then immediately cover the tava with some lid and let the uthappa cook for 30 secs or till the upper part looks set and when you try to detach it from the tava, it comes off easily.Flip it and cook the other side. no need to cover the tava for the other side.
