Ingredients used in KADAI PANEER
• Paneer - 300 grams.
• Green bell pepper - 2 big.
• Red tomatoes puree - 4 cup.
• Kasoori methi( fenugreek leaves) - half cup.
• Ghee or butter - as required.
• Chopped garlic - 4 clove.
• Chopped ginger - 1 tea spoon.
• Chopped green chilies - 2 no.
• Salt - to taste.
• Cream(optional) - as required.
• Chopped cilantro's(coriander leaves) - half cup.
Method:
  1. Slice paneer and bell pepper into thin long strips.
  2. Grind ginger, garlic and green chilies to paste.
  3. Heat ghee in kadai or any vessel, add paste, sauté till it becomes brown.
  4. Add bell pepper, cook for few seconds, then add chili powder and salt.
  5. Now add tomato puree and cook until ghee comes on top
  6. Mix kasoori methi in gravy.
  7. Finally, add the sliced paneer and cook for a minute.
  8. Garnish with cream and chopped cilantro leaves.

It is called kadai paneer or karahi paneer because the paneer or cottage cheese is cooked in an Indian wok called kadai.

 

 Kadai paneer is a very popular North Indian Curry made by paneer cooked in a red Indian gravy.  Kadai paneer is one of the easiest tasty Paneer dishes that can be made in minutes. It is a terrific blend of Indian spices combined with gentle pieces of cottage cheese called Paneer. To make kadai paneer, paneer is seasoned, gently spiced and cooked with tomatoes and bell pepper. It is served along with roti, naan or jeera rice. 

 

Two main ingredients, Kasuri Methi (fenugreek leaves) and Whole Coriander Seeds play a vital role as they not only give Kadai Paneer the flavor but also distinct aroma.

 

Recipe:

Blend tomato and make it puree.  Add turmeric, kadai masala powder, red chili powder, salt, coriander seeds. Add 1 cup of water and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add water according to the desired consistency.

Add Paneer cubes and cook for almost 5 minutes in the masala. Switch off the stove. At last add kasuri methi and cilantro leaves, Check the seasoning.

i made this in under 30 min, and it was about as good as it gets. ive had a lot of trouble trying to keep my meals under 2 hrs these days, but this is certainly going to be an after-work regular. cheers!
