Ingredients used in KONG FIRIN WITH FIGS
• Khoya - 1/2 cup.
• Sugar - 1 cup.
• Almonds - 8 numbers.
• Pistachios - 8 numbers.
• Cashew nuts - 5 numbers.
• Semolina - 1/4 cup.
• Fig (chopped) - 1 cup.
• Ghee / clarified butter - 2 tablespoons.
• Milk - 1000 ml.
• Saffron - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
Method:
  • Blanch almonds and pistachios in one cup of hot water for five minutes.
  • After that drain, peel off the skin and roughly chop them and keep it aside.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add fry semolina for two to three minutes on a low flame, stirring all the time, add cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, cook it for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Then add milk, once this comes to boil.Cook this till it thickened.
  • In the same pan, add saffron and sugar, let it cook by stirring occasionally till sugar melts.
  • At last, add chopped fig, mix well then sprinkle cardamom powder, grated khoya, cook for some more time. Switch off the flame and serve it.
