Recipe of RAVA KESARI

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Ghee Or Butter 6 Tablespoons
Cream Of Wheat 1 Cup
Sugar 1 Cup
Milk 3 Cup
Cashewnuts To Taste
Raisins To Taste
Cardamom Powder 1 Teaspoons

Directions

Heat butter or ghee in a non stick pan. Fry cashews and stir them until they become light brown color and add raisins till done. Remove and keep aside.

Add the rava to that ghee and stir the rava till that comes to light brown color or raw flavor goes away. Remove from heat and keep a aside.

Boil 3 cups of milk when reaches boiling stage and sugar. When sugar dissolves add rava while stirring to avoid lumps. Cook till its almost dry.

Grease a baking pan or a plate and pour this mixture on it. Garnish with cashews, raisins, saffron strands and cardamom powder.

This is a fantastic recipe. Tried making it and it turned out extremely good. Also it takes very less time to cook. Instead of using just water, I took 50% milk and 50% water. For more flavor I added cardomom powder and a little bit of camphor powder. Altogether a very delicious sweet! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!!

I substituted water for milk,sugar content same 1 cup for 1 cup rava,it came good.

The recipe is very good. Can milk be substituted with water. If so what is the water sugar ratio and what consistency of syrup to be made.
