Recipe of Sancocho- -- chicken soup

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Chicken Cut Into Small Pieces 2 -1/2 Lbs
Yucca Peeled And Cut Into Medium Size 1 Lbs
Corn 1 Numbers
Potato Peel And Cut Into Medium Size 2 Numbers
Onion Chopped 1 Numbers
Tablespoons Cilantro, Chopped 4 Tablespoons
Teaspoon Dried Oregano Leaves 1 Tablespoons
Tablespoons Green Pepper, Chopped 2 Tablespoons
Salt To Taste


Put chicken pieces into a stock pot with 2 quarts of water. Add onion, cilantro, oregano and green pepper. Cook for 1 hour. Add salt to tasted. Add potatoes cook tills tender. Add corn last 15 minutes of cooking. Served with steamed rice on the side.

Serve hot with steam rice.
