Description: This ia a kind of instant uttappam and it is very tasty.
Recipe of Semilona Uttappam
|Red Chilli Powder||1||Tablespoons|
First prepare batter by soaking the semilona in curds for 8hrs/overnight. By next day it will be fermented well.Next day,check the batter for consistency.It should be slightly thicker than the dosa batter. If it is too thick add small amount of water.Now mix the salt and baking soda in the batter.Next chop all the vegetables into small pieces and put it aside.Then heat the tava and lighly grease it with oil. Check the tava by pouring 1tbsp of batter.It should sizzle. Then pour 1 1/2 - 2 laddle of batter on the tava and leave it to fry. Do not spread it too much.now add all the chopped vgetables on the uttappam like the toppings on pizza and also sprinkle red chilli powder.Cover the tava with a lid.After 30sec.check the uttapam.,you should be able to flip it.now add 1/2 tsp of oil on the uttapam and flip it.After 30-45 sec.remove it from the tava and enjoy it fresh with coconut chutney.
If you use sour curds you can prepare it after soakin it for 45mins-1hr.
