Freshly Ground Coconut Paste 1 Tablespoons
Goda Masala 1 Teaspoons
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 Teaspoons
Turmeric Powder 1/4 Teaspoons
Hing (asafoetida) Pinch
Green Chillies, Chopped 2-3 Numbers
Curry Leaves 1 Springs
Cumin Seeds 1/2 Teaspoons
Mustard Seeds 1/2 Teaspoons
Oil 2 Tablespoons
Field Beans (Dalimbi/ Kadwe Vaal/ Surti Vaal) 2 Cup
Water As Needed
Salt To Taste
Sugar Pinch
Coriander Leaves, Chopped 1 Bunch


1. Add oil in hot pan and add mustard seeds, when they start to crackle,
2. add cumin seeds, curry leaves, and chopped green chillies. Now reduce the flame and add pinch of hing, turmeric, red chilli powder, goda masala and freshly ground coconut paste. Cook these masala adding little water, salt to taste, pinch of sugar and bring this to a boil.
3. Add the boiled vaal beans or field beans and allow boiling for few mins and switch off the flame. Top it off with finely chopped coriander leaves.

Recipe Tips

You can use fresh seeds of the field beans or soak the dried beans overnight, sprout, boil and cook.
