Recipe of yam fry (sepankizhangu varuval)

oil   To Fry
salt   To Taste
turmeric powder  1/4 Tablespoons
chilli powder  1 Tablespoons
yam  500 Grams
asafoetida(hing)   Pinch

Directions

Wash the yam well. Put some water to boil it. Boil it with skin .Do not cook very soft. After boiling drain the water allow it to cool. After 5 minutes remove the skin. again allow it to cool for 4 minutes. Cut the yam into round shape pieces.Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder , salt amp; hing. Mix it gently. Heat the oil . when the oil is hot put the yam pieces one by one. For one time u can put around 10 pieces. Fry it till it turns into brown colour. Remove it from the fire. Allow it to cool and serve.It will be crispy amp; tasty. Kids will love it.
