MALABAR SPINACH CURRY

Ingredients used in MALABAR SPINACH CURRY
• Oil - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
• Tamarind paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 5-6 clove.
• Red chillies - 3-4 no.
• Coconut grated - 2 cup.
• Malabar spinach - 1 bunch.
• Toor dal - half cup.
• Turmeric powder - half tea spoon.
Method:
  • Chop Malabar spinach leaves and wash them with toordal do not wash before chopping they tend to become soggy.
  • Boil malabar spinach and toordal together on medium flame.
  • Now make a paste of grated coconut, tamarind,turmeric powder and whole redchillies.Add this paste to the toordal and malabar spinach when the dal is almost cooked.
  • Add salt.Bring it to boil. Now in another pan take oil for tadka , add whole garlic with skin in hot oil and let it turn slightly brown.Add this tadka to cooked dal.Bring it to boil.

hi ,this curry is very famous in mangalore ,i have treid it many times , u can ,make it better by adding mustard seeds during frying and then grind with coconut as told above..
