Ingredients used in Methi Dal
• Butter - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - 1 to taste.
• Red chilli whole - 2 numbers.
• Onion - 1 numbers.
• Oil - 1 tablespoons.
• Mustard - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Jeera - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Hing - 1 pinch.
• Green chilli - 5 numbers.
• Garlic - 4 clove.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Methi leaves - 1 bunch.
• Tomato - 1 large.
• Toor dal (kandhi pappu) - 1 cup.
• Turmeric - 1 pinch.
• Tamarend pulp (according to your taste) - 1 tablespoons.
• Water - 3 cup.
Method:
Slice the onions, green chilies,garlic. Chop the tomatoes. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add toor dal. When it is slightly changing the color to red, add sliced onions, green chillies, garlic. Fry for 2 mins and add chopped tomatoes. Add water, turmeric and methi leaves. Pressure cook well. When the pressure is gone, open the cooker lid and add tamarind pulp and salt (according to your taste). Heat butter add red chili whole, mustard and cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves and fry it for 2 mins. Add this tadka (popu) to the cooked methi dal. Finish when you see its little boiling. Your mouth watering Methi Dal is ready :)
