Ingredients used in Bisibelebaath
• Toor dal - 1 cup.
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Red chillies (non spicy variety) - 10-12 numbers.
• Dry copra (half of whole) - 1/2 slice.
• Coriander seeds - 21/2 tablespoons.
• Urad dal - 1 tablespoons.
• Poppy seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Cinnamon sticks - 1 stricks.
• Tamarind - a lemon sized lump - .
Method:
1. Wash Rice and Toordal together and cook (1: 3 ratio water), with a tsp of oil a tsp of Turmeric powder. Keep aside. 2. Now fry Red chillies, Copra, Coriander seeds, Urddal, Poppy seeds, and Cinnamon separately and grind it to coarse powder. 3. Heat a tblsp of oil. Add butter/oil, Mustard, chopped vegetables ( Beans, Carrot, Peas, Potato ), salt and cook till vegetables are soft. 4. Then add the cooked rice dal mixture, the ground masala powder mix thoroughly. Add the Tamarind Juice (and a small piece of Jaggery-optional) Cook for 10-15 min on a low flame. 5. Now make a seasoning with ghee, mustard, red chillies (2), add to the above. Serve hot with Curd raitha.
