Ingredients used in Bottle gourd 5 Dal Curry
• Bottle gourd (chopped ) - 1 number.
• Dry red chillies - 3 number.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry coconut (chopped) - 1/4 cup.
• Toor dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Green moong dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Moong dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic cloves - 5 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Shallots - 9 number.
• Tomato pieces (slices) - 1 number.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chillies - 4 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Jaggery - 1 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chilies, coriander seed, cumin seeds, dry coconut, slightly saute it.
  • To it, add toor dal, chana dal, urad dal, green moong dal, moong dal, saute it for about half a minute.
  • Then add garlic cloves, curry leaves, shallots, slices of tomato pieces, cook it. Later grind to fine paste.
  • Now, in another pan, when it hot enough, add mustard seeds, red chilies, cumin seeds, chopped bottle gourd, shallots, green chilies, salt, tamarind juice, jaggery, and cook by stirring occasionally with closed lid.
  • After some time, add earlier ground onion and tomato paste along with water cook it for about 1-2 minutes.
  • At last, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve it with hot rice.
