CAULIFLOWER PICKLE

Ingredients used in CAULIFLOWER PICKLE
• Cauliflower florets/gobi - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Red chilli powder - 2 tablespoons.
• Fenugreek seeds powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Lemon juice - 1/2 cup.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chillies - 3 numbers.
Method:
  • In a bowl add small cauliflower florets, salt, red chili powder, fenugreek seed powder and lemon juice mix it well.
  • For the tempering: Heat oil in a small pan add mustard seeds when they splutter add chana dal, cumin seeds, red chilies, saute it and let it cool down then pour this tempering on the top of the cauliflower pickle. You can bottle it in a clean dry jar.

Serve this with Curd rice or rotis.

Interesting recipe. I will try it for sure. However, what oil was used? And was the Lentils soaked or cooked before? They come dried and can't be placed like that in the oil.?

It's a good recipe. But i would like to suggest that while marinating add salt, red chilly powder, fenugreek seeds powder.Then rest it for a while....then add lemon juice in it...and while tempering the pickle add mustard seeds, and HING.(asafoet
