Ingredients used in DRUM STICK LEAVES ( MURINGA LEAVES ) ERISSERY
• Red dried chilli. - 3 numbers.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder(can add more qty up 2 your taste) - 1 tea spoon.
• Manjal (turmaric)powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds(jeerakam) - half tea spoon.
• Cocunut scraped - 1 cup.
• Dal (sambar dal or masoor dal) - 1(1/2) cups.
• Drum stick leaves seperated & cleaned - 2 cups.
• Edible oil for sesoning - 1 or 2 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - 4 cups.
Method:
  • Cook dal in water with red chilli powder, manjal powder and salt.
  • Grind scraped coconut with cumin seeds up to get a fine paste.
  • Add the grinted mixture in to the cooked dal.
  • When it boils add Muringa leaves and cook only 2-3 minutes.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and dried red chillies in oil in another pan and add to it.

Serve hot with rice or chappati.

Note:

If drum stick leaves (moringa leaves) are unavailable, try it with keera leaves(or Palak). But the best results comes with drum stick leaves.
