Let me start with a very popular saying – “Health is Wealth”. WHO has rightly defined that Health is a state of complete physical, mental & social well being and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity. Leading a Healthy Lifestyle is not only about eating fresh veggies and fruits and let go of every single thing which you love the most but whatever you eat or drink must be in some limits.


But still vegetables, fruits and plenty of water should be the essential component of your daily meal. Excess of everything is bad for health. Through my other articles I have constantly been saying that a healthy diet includes all the essential nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber, water and salt as per the requirements of the body.


It is very important to include all these elements into our diet as they provide us with energy, supports your mood, maintains your weight, boost fertility, combat stress, ease symptoms of menopause, make pregnancy and nursing easier and it can also be a huge support through the different stages in life.


A healthy diet should include one or more components from each food groups which includes cereals and millets, pulses legumes nuts and oil seed, milk egg and flesh foods, vegetables and fruits. A healthy life style and healthy diet go hand in hand to prevent you from numerous health related problems like heart disease/ hypertension/ high cholesterol levels, obesity, hypothyroidism/ hyperthyroidism, diabetes, anemia, acne/ early wrinkles, skin diseases, osteoarthritis, liver diseases and cancer etc.


Here are some of the useful tips that you could follow for a healthy living, healthy diet, daily physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices.

  • If you are overweight or gaining weight, then it’s important that you immediately follow a proper routine healthy lifestyle. If you have some idea about health tips then you can definitely know what and how much you are eating. Consciously eating the right amount of calories and fats in the ingredients added in your everyday food will keep you healthy and fit.
  • Choose water as a drink and drink plenty of water. Avoid sugary or aerated drinks.
  • Include more natural and fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet.
  • Eat breakfast regularly and take smaller portions of meals.
  • Eat fewer snacks and select healthier alternatives.
  • Avoid whites as there is no nutritional value in white bread, white flour, white rice. Try and replace with brown or red rice.
  • Include a variety of whole grains in your diet, do not eat too much protein, choose healthy fats, and make sure you include enough iron, calcium in your diet.
  • Try to avoid or eliminate refined sugar.
  • Cut back on caffeine and alcohol.
  • Finally apart from eating a balanced diet, a good physical exertion is more effective to keep you healthy and active. Try out some brisk walking, jogging or yoga. Spend a good amount of 30 minutes a day for your exercise.

To make these small changes in your lifestyle is not a big deal, but you need to regularly practice and make it a part of your life is a task and sincerely following it is important. Few points that you must mentally prepare yourself for having a better healthy lifestyle are:
