Ingredients used in Khichdi(Jagannath temple of Puri type)
• Cilantro leaves - 6 to 10 springs.
• Cumin seeds - 2 tablespoons.
• Ghee - 500 grams.
• Water - 4 cup.
• Ginger minced - 3 tablespoons.
• Hing - 1 tablespoons.
• Fresh shredded coconut - 1 numbers.
• Whole green moong dal - 1/2 cup.
• Rice - 2 cup.
• Raisins - to taste.
Method:
First heat the water in a medium pan.Let the water boil. take another small pan. In that put 2tbsp ghee. Let the ghee heat and add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle and immediately add into the boiling water.Then add rice, whole green moong dal, coconut, ginger, hing and raisins. Cover a lid and stir in between. After 15 mins rice will be ready. Lastly add chopped cilantro and rest of the ghee. Then the famous Mandir ki khichdi would be ready.
